Since I'm sitting in the library and should be doing some sort of homework...I figured I'd write a blog post instead!
This weekend was fun, minus the drama that seems to always come up whenever any of my close friends go out (usually some combination of Anne, Jing, Andrew, Paul, Tom, and Natalia go out while Damaris and I usually stay in cause we're cool like that.) Before they went out, Jing and I played some intense foosball with Vipul (spell?) and Amit (spell?!), some guys from Little. Saturday, however, the frats were closed for rushing. Really funny to see my UGA Brian all dressed up, stressing out, worried that the frat he wanted to be in (Beta) wouldn't give him a bid.
Saturday morning I went to brunch with my PDOCT group! (Pre-DOC Trip group...we had lunch the very first day we were here before we went on trips and all liked hanging out, so we determined that we should hang out after trips.) Only Noam, Chris, Elli, and I could go (everyone else BAILED) but we went to Lou's which has AMAZING breakfast. The wait was super long, so it ended up being closer to lunch but definitely worth the wait. After that I did a little bit of work, random studying, and went to the Co-op with Clau. The Co-op is an ACTUAL GROCERY STORE :D Haven't been to one in a while. I bought a lot of fruit, yogurt, and granola so now breakfast doesn't need to happen outside my room which means more sleeping in, hooray!
I ended up playing a lot of Guitar Hero on Saturday (Tommy has a super nice TV and Chris has the game...as one of the better people, I get recruited to play when better players want to play...finally all those times playing at Erin's have paid off!) Jing and I tried to make cookies but EPICLY failed. First, we went to Brittle (lounge between Brown and Little) and couldn't find any baking pans. Then we went to Biscoh (lounge between Bissell and Cohen) where there were no baking pans. We decided McLaughlin must have baking pans cause their buildings are like...Hotel Dartmouth and they have everything. But lo and behold, when we get to McLaughlin...no baking pans. We took a break and went to a floor party that Tom and Paul were holding in Cohen. I was surprised that they actually managed to have a party, but we figured it would be broken up soon so we left after like 10 minutes at most. At this point, Jing and I decided it was time to trek out to CVS (maybe like a mile walk at most). May I please point out that it was about 11:45 at night and definitely below 40 degrees. We get to CVS and there are no baking pans...not even the foil ones you throw away after like one use. Not even a pie pan that we could just convert into a temporary baking pan. IT WAS LAME to say the least. We made our sad trip back to Brown and after a little more talking with people, went to bed.
Sunday was good. We woke up early to get breakfast at the Hop...it was delicious! Croissant sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich. Like McDonald's but a MILLION times better. I went back to sleep and woke up for church. Love love love going to church here. The ward is amazing, everybody is so friendly, and it seems like every lesson, talk, musical number, and prayer is directed right toward me. Love it. Came back right in time for the floor meeting which was a little awkward cause I was still dressed up for church haha. Odochi was like "Amy, did you go on a date?!"
Today, Monday, has been good thus far. Woke up, ate granola and yogurt (mmm so good), went to classes, ate lunch with Andrew, Paul, Tom, and Tom's recruit (I love meeting potential 14s!), talked to Mom, and now I'm here on the fourth floor of Berry library with Damaris and Amit (spell?!??!) I love fourth floor Berry because of the beautiful view it gives of campus :)
Life is good. Not getting too swamped with homework, enjoying the people, and getting involved in lots of stuff! Yay college!

Ah! Guitar hero. Psh... It's all about Rockband now ;] My roommate has an HDTV (what's this? how does a college student HERE have the money for that? I don't know lol) and the drums, two guitars, and the mic... can you say Freaking Awesome?? =] You would definitely be recruited to play in our room... because we definitely aren't that good lol.
ReplyDeleteWe were thinking of trying to apply for money for our floor to buy Rock Band...actually I'm pretty sure we're going to do that. So don't worry, I will soon be as awesome as your roommate.
