It's been a while since I updated and I actually have some down time! Yeah laundry!
This past week has been pretty exciting. Taught my first primary lesson on Sunday. I'm teaching the CTR 6 class, which means I have 5 to 6 year olds. They are all so adorable but SO LOUD and RAMBUNCTIOUS. But the cuteness almost makes up for it. Almost.
Monday was classes as usual, lunch with Andrew, Paul, and Tom at the Hop (the Hopkins Center for the Arts...basically where I spend all my time because it houses the mail center, the music department, all my rehearsals, and good food), orchestra, and Cabin and Trail. Tuesday was bio, lunch with Tommy and Natalia at Pavilion (kosher food and AMAZING cookies...so good), horn quartet, fencing (we had like the beginnings of a tournament and I actually won some bouts, though I feel like some of the guys go easier on me...lame), institute (it's Megan's birthday on Saturday so Elyse brought cupcakes YAY), and then some awesome homework time. Wednesday was classes, shopping in Hanover with peeps :), then later in the day my super extreme adventure with Elyse! We went to West Leb to pick up some mask-making supplies. I guess I should back up because I don't think I've mentioned it here but tomorrow (Saturday) I'm going down to Boston for the LDS Education Conference. On Saturday day, some of the most prominent people in our church will be speaking to us and then at night we'll be having a masquerade ball (!!!), just like Gossip Girl! Sunday we'll be going to church all together in Boston and then leaving later that day. It's gonna be so amazing!! So Elyse and I bought mask supplies as well as candy for the Trunk or Treat later that night. We went to the Trunk or Treat as "ceiling fans" (aka Elyse made signs that said "Go Ceiling!!! You're #1!!!!"...we know, it's witty.) We got some free chili, cornbread, and candy WOO. Also, the signs are increasing as to why Elyse and I should be best friends (I believe we are on sign #12 if I'm not mistaken.) I got back to the dorm around 8:30ish and proceeded to do a million hours of homework. Thursday was a super busy day as well. I went to DinerToure with Tommy and Chris. We went to 4 Aces and I got a Belgian waffle with chocolate chips :) Delish. Tommy and I sprinted to bio. After that I went to music x-hour (where we do the singing solfege stuff) and luckily I wasn't called on! Got lunch with Natalia and Anne at the Hop then decided to skip fencing because of my ridiculous schedule. I opted for homework and studying instead. At 5, I visited Elyse's office for an awesome mask-making parrrrrtAY, then went back to the Hop for dinner. Had orchestra rehearsal from 7-9 and then trippee pong from 9-10:30. So pong is like THE sport of Dartmouth, which is essentially like regular beer pong except you play with ping pong paddles with the handles broken off. There are other rules and such, but no need to get into those. One of my trip leaders blitzed out that we should all come Thursday at 9 (Thursdays are off nights for the frats because most people have early classes on Friday) to play pong together (don't worry, they are totally cool with you playing with water...since I know you were all worried.) Turns out I'm good at pong, yaaaaaay. Like I actually sunk it a couple times or hit the cup (sinking it means they have to drink it, hitting the cup means they have to drink half.) It was nice to reconnect with them since we aren't like some trips where the people became best friends. I don't really ever talk to them, only say hi when I see them (if that ever happens), so it was nice to actually talk. I came back and stuuuuuuuudied for my music theory midterm (it was today). I came back from the basement at like 12:30 and just hung out by Alfredo's room because I just needed human interaction. Plus Fredo had a prospie!! Went to sleep around 1.
Today was my midterm which I felt pretty confident about. I woke up early, got a nice big breakfast, and felt prepared. The test itself was alright. I know I probably missed some points here or there, but I answered everything and felt like I answered most things really well. I went to math, lunch at the Hop (I told you I'm always there...), and now I'm here in my room, waiting for the laundry. Today will also consist of brass trio rehearsal, FHE (Family Home Evening, basically another Mormon event haha), and the Ying Quartet!!! Damaris and I are so excited for it EEEEEE. And then tomorrow I'm leaving at 6 am (ew.) for the best weekend ever!!! (I know two posts ago I said Homecoming was the best weekend ever...but whatevs, I can have two best weekends ever.)
