So I think I've written about it before, but since it's official now, I thought I'd talk about Austria :)
We have lots of study abroad options here, the main two being Language Study Abroad (LSA) and Foreign Study Program (FSP). They're in all departments, though LSA is specifically for languages (duh) and FSPs can be for like anything. So I applied to the Music FSP which is in Vienna, Austria during my sophomore spring and I got in! It wasn't super competitive like lots of other people's programs (18 people applied...18 people got in...) but I guess that's the plus of liking something that not many other people do. I'm super pumped cause I have lots of friends going and Andrew is going to France probably that term too, so Paul and I can like meet him halfway there on a free weekend or so!! And Elizabeth (my "original" and I'm her "copy"...kind of a long, DSO-related inside joke) will be in Prague at the same time and we're definitely going there as a group!! OMG I'm just getting so excited for it all!! Even though it's a year away...just knowing that I will definitely be going abroad is nice. I love talking to Paul about it cause it just gets me SO EXCITED!!! Need to get some sort of job (hopefully an internship) this summer to help pay since it will be a bit more than a normal term at Dartmouth and I'll also need to pay for airfare. It's cool cause we'll be living in co-ed flats with single sex rooms and basically living on our own (grocery shopping, cleaning, and cooking included). We get to take lessons, classes in the music history of central Europe, and see like 30 performances. WHAT A WIN.
Haha and I definitely just remembered "Austria or Bust" from like 8th grade times. Prophecy being fulfilled! Guess that means backpacking in Europe will def be happening too ;)

That sounds like so much incredible fun! So are you taking some more music classes at Dartmouth? I thought you were into the neuroscience/chemistry/scientist deal?
